[Teddy, on the 25th]
He'd felt this way once before, when Teddy first disappeared. A strange sort of emptiness, when the realization hits and there's nothing to do to fix it. Billy has no magic to make Alexis come back, and even thinking that makes Billy feel a little too selfish, because she's probably a lot happier back in New York with her dad.
He doesn't really know how he ends up with Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, only that she seems to like him, and with Alexis gone she needs a new home.
When he makes it home, he can tell Teddy is home and is entirely relieved and grateful for it. The door's kind of open and he can hear the strains of music floating out of the house as he walks in. "Teddy?"

He lets her start down them first before beginning his own descent.
"What's up?" There's a note in Billy's voice, even just in the one word, that has red flags raised for Teddy.
